Day 6 and yet more Hunter Week

Day 6: Getting Read

Seish kind of wonders how all these are getting read. The first time I noticed this in the inscription shop in Dalaran I don't know how long I stood there staring at it. As someone who loves books I was just kind of fascinated for a bit, imagining what kind of things might be in those books.

Hunter Week

     Varrega and Crescënt are the last hunter goals to meet for this week. Being kind of miserable with a headache today, this seemed like a good time to putter around with Varrega. She and Ritha made their way safely back home to Durotar/The Barrens and she ran around herbing and quested up two levels. So she's 13 now. Was kind of nebulously hoping for maybe 15 or 20 this week but I'm not holding myself to that.

     She's met my basic goal of getting a couple levels and helped remind me yet again why I keep making hunters. Because they're just fun. Also spent a while fiddling around with transmog ideas for her but haven't found one I'm perfectly happy with just yet, so I'm not showing them off.
     Crescënt's leather farming goal is slowly progressing and I've added in the goal of picking a bow for her transmog, since that's the only part of it I haven't picked and am not happy with. She'll probably get her own short post on that tomorrow.

Day 5 and Hunter Week: Haath and Zakuli

Day 5: Here Forever

Some of the former residents are here forever. Took me quite a while to figure out what I was doing for this shot. Orignally had some Night Elf ruins, but then thought of this place and came here instead. I love the eerie feel of it and the ruins and the music that's both creepy and sad.

Hunter Week: Haath and Zakuli's goals

     Zakuli got his new heirloom pants! Aug shelled out the gold for the junior hunter and bought him some leather pants from the guild. Should have been mail, but he was already wearing mostly leather and there's a monk alt that might want them someday when he's done so he gets leather.

     Then Haath set out from Dalaran on a taming expedition. First to Borean Tundra for a rhino. Watched the herds for a while until one of them did something sort of interesting and tamed that one. Her name is Murra. And she's already a cozy furry backrest for her hunter.

     Then it was off to Un'Goro for a Devilsaur. I wanted the white one, so that meant my tried and true method for finding the Devilsaur I want came into play. Fly around the crater a million times, landing only to kill the Devilsaurs that are the wrong color until the right color one shows up. Found it (eventually) and managed to get the tame without a hitch. Welcome to the family, Ghost. Taming screenie!

     Now Haath really feels like a Beast Mastery hunter. When he finally gets a few more levels it will be time for the dreaded Spirit Beast hunt, but for now I'm very happy to have picked up two of my favorite exotics for him.
    So far I'm really enjoying hunter week, have managed to make all my goals so far, and just have Crescënt and Varrega's left. Then I'll probably make a big long post about my thoughts on the class. It really is one of my favorites and I'll freely admit that pets are a big part of that!

Day 4 and more Hunter Week

Day 4: Alone

Nyv in Shado-Pan Monastery. I could go into a lot of detail about why Nyv's the character I think of when I think of 'Alone' or why this particular shot seemed lonelier than any number of others with just him in them that I had. But I think it speaks for itself pretty well.

Aug's Day

     Set aside the whole day worth of playtime to complete one goal because I didn't know how long it was going to take Aug to grind up 150 meat and 150 lumber with just Cruentus the Direhorn to help. The answer is: a couple of hours, but not all day.

     Yay! Aug got his title and got a new pair of shoulders that just bumped his item level up high enough to get into Mogu'Shan Vaults should he ever desire to do so. All in all pretty happy with that day's work for him. But since I've got some of the day left he might get a chance to do a run through LFR.
     Aug's pets aren't as cooperative for Stampede shots as Tyl's are. I can't seem to get a good shot that shows all of the ones he picked for it, but here's the best one. The pets in this were chosen mostly for sentimental reason. Aug has too many pets he likes running around with to have five clear favorites that tend to make up his stampede like Tyl. But two of the ones he spent the most time leveling with are in here, as well as a few he put some extra work into taming. Aug's Stampede.

Day 3 and Hunter Week Continued

Day 3: Lines

Fishing Lines. And lines in general. And Tai fishing with Pandarens which is a thing he does. 

Tyl's Day

     I've decided that for hunter's week. Tyl and Aug each need a whole day. They've got pretty big goals and are characters I play a fair bit. So today is about Tyl. Tomorrow will be about Aug and the rest of the week will be divided among the rest of the hunter alts.

     My goal for Tyl this week was to get him through the first wing of Throne of Thunder. Mission Accomplished. Even if all my loot rolls ended like this. 

     And I may try doing the second wing on him since there's the whole rest of the day available. Would be nice to replace his very subpar weapon if Tortos will see fit to drop one.

     There are a lot of other things I'd like to post about Tyl and at some point I'll do a post for his mog, since I'm rather fond of it. In the meantime here's a picture of his roster of favorite stampede pets. (Beast Mastery hunters get the best stampedes!)

Wow Screenshot a Day: Days 1 and 2

     I was sad I missed most of August before starting this blog so I was so excited to see that there was going to be another one! So for September I'll be taking part in Tycertank's WoW Screenshot A Day! Of course I missed seeing it until late last night so Day 1 is in this post too. After this they should be coming one a day as expected.
Day 1: Together

Rim and Syri leveling through Uldum. Looking through screenshots the other day my husband had commented that it looks like these two do everything together. Even wearing silly spectacles apparently. There were honestly a lot of screenshots in my folder I could have used for this, there are a lot of wonderful friends I play with regularly and I've ended up taking a lot of shots of our characters together but in the end that comment made me choose this one.

Day 2: My Name Begins With

Took me a while to figure out what to do for this one but I finally went with this. If you really squint you can kind of see the shape of the letter in the mountains. But if that's not clue enough, well mountains and moon also begin with M.

Alt Appreciation Week: Hunters

     Hunters are a class near and dear to my heart. If I'm picking my top three favorite WoW classes to play hunters are on that list. I've got a lot of hunter alts. I have a tendency to keep rerolling more, though I've been trying to keep that to a minimum, because really I can only play so many of them. Still I managed to get two to 90 and I've got a few more scattered here and there on the way up.

     Tyl

     90 Beast Mastery Hunter

     If I have a hunter main, Tyl's it. He's got his own spot on my Cast of Characters page and I go through streaks of playing him quite a lot. His cat there, Snowthorn is my favorite pet among all my hunters' pets. Tyl's almost always running with her, no matter what he's doing. He does some soloing, does runthroughs for friends' low lvl alliance alts. Does any alliance quest chains that come up that might be different than Horde side so I can see the story from both sides. He finished his Operation Shieldwall rep before Rim and Syri finished Dominance Offensive and he's proudly wearing his Hordebreaker title. 

Aug

     90 Survival Hunter

     Aug was leveled before Tyl. He was my first 85 hunter during Cata and did a lot of LFRs. I've been playing him less in MOP but he was still a priority for getting to 90 and he'll probably still eventually get geared up. I love him as a character and have so much fun putting together flashy transmogs for him. He's got a heck of a bow collection in his bank and I get tempted sometimes to build more mogs around my favorites.

Haath

     69 Beast Mastery Hunter

     Haath was my first Alliance hunter. Made to play with a friends warrior when we were still getting RAF experience. He hasn't been played much since because he has to wait for said friend to be available, but he still contrived to hit lvl 69 and finally live up to the spec I picked for him. Yay exotics!

Crescënt

     54 Beast Mastery Hunter

     Crescënt is the only character in my entire roster with one of those silly non standard letters in her name. I made her to help start an alliance guild with my husband and a few friends and I was determined she got to have the name of one of my oldest rp characters so funny codes it was. Since she's played strictly with two other characters she really doesn't get much play time. She does however have an almost completed transmog that is exactly what I wanted for her when I made her. And she does sometimes get to go on pet hunting expeditions without her leveling buddies. I really love this character. Kind of wish I got to play her more, but I also just enjoy her as she is, very slowly leveling with her friends.

Thierrel

     20 Marksmanship Hunter

     Thierrel is my one and only Worgen. I'd made a few other worgen alts, but never could stick with them. He's played with my friend's Worgen so again he doesn't get a lot of play time. But eventually I'll play him some and try to get a handle on Marksmanship which is the only hunter spec I don't really know. He lives on the server that was Tyl's home before he moved and Tyl was nice enough to buy him an heirloom before he left, so he's got that much going for him.

Varrega

     11 Survival Hunter

     Got the urge to make yet another hunter. Didn't have one on Tai's server. Didn't have an orc. So here's Varrega. Tai already bought her a nice bow and she's already gone over to Silverpine and tamed the pet I knew she'd have: Ritha. Varrega and her trusty friend will probably be slowly solo leveling, maybe sneaking in a bit of pvp, but I'm in no rush to level.

Zakuli

     18 Beast Mastery Hunter

     This is a character that's near and dear to my heart. He was my first ever character on my own WoW account. When I started playing I knew I'd be playing a blood elf paladin. My friend had ordered me a copy of Burning Crusade but I had to wait a week for it to ship. So I made Zakuli and set off to explore some of the world while I waited. Obviously he didn't get too far, but he got to see the Isles before they changed for Cataclysm. He's wearing a bunch of heirlooms. Seish got him a bow and he's inherited all the leathers Macangus was wearing. So when he and his rogue friend (played by the friend I seem to play a lot of characters with) get back to questing he'll be well equipped. In the meantime he's comfortable in Orgrimmar, managing my tab in said friend's banking guild.

     Yeah I have a lot of hunter alts. And I want to try to doing a little something for each of them this week. So here are my goals:

Tyl: Get at least one full run through the first wing of Throne of Thunder so he can move on to the next. (Only other attempt he got in for the last boss.)

Aug: Finish gathering 150 of two more supplies to get one piece of gear from the Barrens and his Darkspear Revolutionary title.

Haath: He just hit 69. So time to go tame him an exotic pet or two. He needs a Devilsaur and a rhino. He just does.

Crescënt: Farm up some leather to try to catch up on her Leatherworking!

Thierrel: Design him a transmog so I can imagine him looking slightly less mismatched and ridiculous than he currently does.

Varrega: Gain a couple levels. Do some herbing.

Zakuli: Seish or Rim or somebody is shelling out the cash to get him the heirloom legs. He deserves them.

Druid Week: Retrospective

     Well Seish and Tai between the two of them contrived to monopolize most of my playtime this week. But I did at least manage to spend a little time on each of the druids. So here is what they ended up doing.
     Tiuli was first and she did end up making her way safely to the Valley of the Four Winds, with a few stops for herbs on the way. She also picked up her: 'A Worthy Opponent' Achieve by killing Aethis the Jinyu. She was in resto spec so burning him down with moonfire and wrath took quite some time but she managed it! I left her spending some time with Chen Stormstout in the Valley ready to embark on more quests when the time presents itself.

     Macangus was second. I'd forgotten how little I'd really done in Jade Forest with him. He didn't make it all the way to buy his new gear but he did finish several quests and get some new stuff that way and reminded me that while I hadn't been enjoying druid tanking in dungeons so much (probably because my brain is too stuck in paladin mode) that being a bear and ripping up big groups while questing really is a LOT of fun. He is currently camped on the former Alliance air base ready to start winning over the hozen.

     Elyn got left 'til last. One dungeon run, a bit of questing some pet battling and I designed her a transmog for when she grows up. What is funny to me is that I sat down with Mogit, put this outfit together and then when I saved it realized I had started and saved another one for her already that I didn't remember doing. When I looked at it, I realized that whenever I'd done that I had picked the same robe, shoulders and head. So apparently I really like those for her.

     So that was Druid week. And because my brain is stuck on WoW time I was originally planning on posting this Monday because I had it in my head that of course the new week started on Tuesday. Having sorted that out tomorrow will start what will probably be an entire week full of nothing but hunter posts. Because I love them almost as much as paladins.
