However, in honor of the last of the Mists trio finally hitting 100 and a Legion boost I decided to post the updated roster of the paladins that give this blog its name.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg39ryb8GlDtgaPppUitdNtQmjflfME_8nzMeATCfr5qUcX2YNAbQrcnBu_I5nkJI6SLnSXVbc-jPidtsVqFMM5BUdzFX5uCcd5ORiQNhJhCOPxCto9blNXeI2T-eYZEFsYAxSKqIA36NQ/s1600/Paladin2015Seish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg39ryb8GlDtgaPppUitdNtQmjflfME_8nzMeATCfr5qUcX2YNAbQrcnBu_I5nkJI6SLnSXVbc-jPidtsVqFMM5BUdzFX5uCcd5ORiQNhJhCOPxCto9blNXeI2T-eYZEFsYAxSKqIA36NQ/s400/Paladin2015Seish.jpg" width="301" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Seish (Ret, JC/Ench)</div>
Seish is still ret. He was the third paladin to hit 100 because he had to wait around for his favorite warrior buddy. He hasn't been doing a whole lot of rep or anything this expansion because the Mistweavers covered it with friends, however he's very much enjoying running a garrison and trying to fill it with as many elves as possible. Also switched his mining for enchanting, because it was so easy to level enchanting in Draenor.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwaG_vJoD8ITFNR9M6c5zeBwG80ypTOvX1Dh8dblUr6mgI8elAxQK0xuOuOoxyOlpbOk6LcnFuf_b-P6CDvApJS21jLOKUcjshHo2w-wN2Sp5T5Q7B1B_G_zTYZR3gi_6nWQg3c1n0-XY/s1600/Paladin2015Rim.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwaG_vJoD8ITFNR9M6c5zeBwG80ypTOvX1Dh8dblUr6mgI8elAxQK0xuOuOoxyOlpbOk6LcnFuf_b-P6CDvApJS21jLOKUcjshHo2w-wN2Sp5T5Q7B1B_G_zTYZR3gi_6nWQg3c1n0-XY/s400/Paladin2015Rim.jpg" width="395" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Rim (Prot, Min/Bs)</div>
Rim was the first paladin to hit 100. He tanked a few dungeons with friends, but since hubby's mage is taking a break he hasn't had a chance to do much beyond those and a bit of blacksmithing for he and Seish and other friends on the server.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgV62giWcPj0ZHpn-6G1dK1uqwQJvG_o2_4E9jtD0YaLeZz_91Q9s4GPbvlfM2KIsSzgcp7v90L-xMVQaOzbyC9GBOLtU0SfpF4H8eINk35W7UfTXr2G82z09gtLrczgut3ZxW_9-dL-8/s1600/Paladin2015Ailuuya.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="383" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgV62giWcPj0ZHpn-6G1dK1uqwQJvG_o2_4E9jtD0YaLeZz_91Q9s4GPbvlfM2KIsSzgcp7v90L-xMVQaOzbyC9GBOLtU0SfpF4H8eINk35W7UfTXr2G82z09gtLrczgut3ZxW_9-dL-8/s400/Paladin2015Ailuuya.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Ailuuya (Holy/Ret, Alch/JC)</div>
Ailuuya was my WoD 90 boost and the second paladin to hit 100. She's also my raiding main this expansion, so she's she's seen a lot of action healing raids. I'm very much enjoying that and think I manage to do decently well at it fairly often.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNpNKC6Mg6LaKHqs2b_SNh1zocEx78rZZVaxpB_hg_rSQJboxgCSJc-sNZnWWp1hEElcAQP5c9rI1QhkRP8p-U_Q3aLFWX-slUA1nGfDkgbOSumbIol7i2HSKfqlVvyO58umZBs5Oa2Aw/s1600/Paladin2015Laen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNpNKC6Mg6LaKHqs2b_SNh1zocEx78rZZVaxpB_hg_rSQJboxgCSJc-sNZnWWp1hEElcAQP5c9rI1QhkRP8p-U_Q3aLFWX-slUA1nGfDkgbOSumbIol7i2HSKfqlVvyO58umZBs5Oa2Aw/s400/Paladin2015Laen.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Laen (Holy/Ret, BS/Ench)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Laen was leveling with hubby's boosted Brewmaster for a bit so he stalled out at 96 until I finally finished him entirely through dungeons. He's not seeing a lot of healing action this expansion sadly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsHs0D7PCqHlHUeOStDM8KC1diJxrZyjXFLUJMg3TIjNM4SCo_g_iF9TesMzxtRpb21o13pk4N6pxfBBFjbYlgcNE0UQ9_cXVDm_6YyDF3iGK5wKeK2BNkGic2XTQ5fxMiqS89WIYAP7s/s1600/Paladin2015Kieryl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsHs0D7PCqHlHUeOStDM8KC1diJxrZyjXFLUJMg3TIjNM4SCo_g_iF9TesMzxtRpb21o13pk4N6pxfBBFjbYlgcNE0UQ9_cXVDm_6YyDF3iGK5wKeK2BNkGic2XTQ5fxMiqS89WIYAP7s/s400/Paladin2015Kieryl.jpg" width="318" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Kieryl (Holy/Ret, Alch/Ench)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This is the little paladin I made on the RP server where Vaelanys lives to celebrate them finally making holy paladin heirlooms. Of course then he sat for a while before I finally boosted him with my Legion preorder and gave him a mog based on those heirlooms. This is Kierylaen Starblood, street kid turned paladin and Vae's reluctant second in command in Draenor. He's known for his small stature, hot temper, and terrible language. Also for his habit of filching small trinkets from people who annoy him.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In conclusion I think I should probably stop playing on new servers since I can't seem to stop feeling like I need a paladin on every one. Four servers here, and five paladins (at 100, we won't talk about the ones that aren't there yet.)</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgddcFY1zs3K7O6Vhw09UT9UzFNj7oGfyJyZYuPDjT0wz7AJDSmmiurEAD0LykE2b9PcvRjTTKiVCLV6pd2kynFpV1qYc5xBUWjOHQnghCI2m1tqJ3f7uWxidwWh0xDM4VMwKRvffM9_D4/s1600/RimGrimBatol.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgddcFY1zs3K7O6Vhw09UT9UzFNj7oGfyJyZYuPDjT0wz7AJDSmmiurEAD0LykE2b9PcvRjTTKiVCLV6pd2kynFpV1qYc5xBUWjOHQnghCI2m1tqJ3f7uWxidwWh0xDM4VMwKRvffM9_D4/s400/RimGrimBatol.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
Back in Cataclysm when I was a very new player and first took up paladin tanking with Rim I saw far more of all the heroics than I ever wanted. but I also had a guild full of people at the beginning and had a lot of good times that make me a bit nostalgic for them to this day. Also back in Cataclysm as a fairly new tank I did almost every achievement for <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=4845/glory-of-the-cataclysm-hero">Glory of the Cataclysm Hero</a>. All but two to be exact: <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5293/i-hate-that-song">I Hate that Song</a> and <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=5297/umbrage-for-umbriss">Umbrage for Umbriss</a>.<br />
In September I went back to Halls with Rim on a whim and surprised myself by knocking out the first of the two, but it wasn't until today that I finally sat down and flew over to Grim Batol for the last one. I probably could have done them last expansion or at least much sooner on another character, but I wanted to finish like I'd started. So it had to be Rim.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU0aeiFUb9l7L2PzygNqkgkRzQn-131_7WCvM7YC8pSbrjmDd-n__FflK85KNejFO05TpXSdYX4l_rIrhvidwJHrXALcTy-Klpd4zPLTiHQ8Vc3rrM15X2KXhRROk3Koq8ZvklD4H3KG8/s1600/CataHero.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="72" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhU0aeiFUb9l7L2PzygNqkgkRzQn-131_7WCvM7YC8pSbrjmDd-n__FflK85KNejFO05TpXSdYX4l_rIrhvidwJHrXALcTy-Klpd4zPLTiHQ8Vc3rrM15X2KXhRROk3Koq8ZvklD4H3KG8/s400/CataHero.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
And one more mount for the collection:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is 224. And it feels good to finally have it done.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-18666653977057974842015-11-09T11:12:00.001-08:002015-11-09T11:12:22.081-08:00RP Characters and Mogs: Taelathin Firehawk<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKJTDIF8oo2Yqbse-hqQKWCgXrUjveBNA0Jw0-y04u33ocGpiXunPQ5IxAAX1qCAa64rh1GmArBNf4rCENVUZxRQHMWxOs8Ee2u6lNLSmXnZRfiEm1EQGCO6qFEr-YR6cDaLADmqtzbaA/s1600/Taelathinmog1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKJTDIF8oo2Yqbse-hqQKWCgXrUjveBNA0Jw0-y04u33ocGpiXunPQ5IxAAX1qCAa64rh1GmArBNf4rCENVUZxRQHMWxOs8Ee2u6lNLSmXnZRfiEm1EQGCO6qFEr-YR6cDaLADmqtzbaA/s400/Taelathinmog1.jpg" width="336" /></a></div>
Here's another RP mog. It's one I've used in bits and pieces leveling since level 40 with additions as he reaches the levels to mog the pieces I want. He's only 88, but I think this one is done. This is Taelathin Firehawk, beast mastery hunter, part time relic hunter, and man of the wild. (He's also Tai's second cousin.)<br />
I wanted something simple and in muted greens and browns for Lathin, and I've always meant to make a mog that involves this bow, though I didn't realize until I finally did just how much fun the animation for it is. This transmog has two modes. One with helm hidden for every day and one with it shown and a shirt added for extra camouflage since bright red hair can be a bit flashy.<br />

The <a href="http://www.wowhead.com/item=53852/embroidered-shirt">Embroidered Shirt</a> looks even better to me so I will likely begin using that one as soon as I am willing to shell out 1000 gold for it.</div>

Bonus shot to show off how nifty that bow is.</div>

This gives a great excuse for transmogging, especially with lower level stuff that can be used and acquired while leveling. So here are the leveling transmogs for one of my new characters.<br />
Heryneth Starstride is an assassin who masquerades as a traveling musician to put his victims at ease, so he tends toward pretty bright colored leathers suitable for performing.<br />

And that's partly because I've been thinking about what sort of character my demon hunter will be, but also because I am not sure what to feel. It sounds incredibly exciting, and I feel that if they dive in and do everything they mentioned for it the way it should be done without cutting any corners, it could very well be amazing. That is the expansion I want. If they cut too much out of it and it ends up another Warlords, I think I will be very sad. So that's what I think. I'm excited by the idea but my optimism is more cautious this time.<br />
The rest of this post is just going to be a collection of screenshots, mostly with explanation of a few of the things I've been up to in game. During raids I have discovered that with Transmorphic Tincture + the Orb of the Sin'dorei Ailuuya can spend five minutes being a male blood elf and I can feel more at home. She makes a very handsome male blood elf, so here are screenshots, taken in the garrison when I wasn't frantically healing.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA14YIWa6RLFoBSCnDpzl-ziESOKGc7Om-5yCwvX6wh3Oq1xrtqr4QNZulOx47Iz-jrUv6xm2A4ibPyIDFQZkRuM0CFQdUxuoFw93DHyuJbPc3-4Q_CZq4m-psqzOcSjI3fGu0QBePWoQ/s1600/Ailuuyabelf1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA14YIWa6RLFoBSCnDpzl-ziESOKGc7Om-5yCwvX6wh3Oq1xrtqr4QNZulOx47Iz-jrUv6xm2A4ibPyIDFQZkRuM0CFQdUxuoFw93DHyuJbPc3-4Q_CZq4m-psqzOcSjI3fGu0QBePWoQ/s400/Ailuuyabelf1.jpg" width="396" /></a></div>
I want that armor for one of my actual blood elves more than ever now.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqIBBVg8hVxZNkABsTvI8R-UnOzgos98dYjiiS-GN8hw2xQU5gM51TWpX4HtvfcktISenz_muDMR6TtzkVoCGWpVbuKRo1lS4m35lZhN-fqpLmX5jgcn5LTS3JuQwK-kKlHLMJMKkCem4/s1600/Ailuuyabelf2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqIBBVg8hVxZNkABsTvI8R-UnOzgos98dYjiiS-GN8hw2xQU5gM51TWpX4HtvfcktISenz_muDMR6TtzkVoCGWpVbuKRo1lS4m35lZhN-fqpLmX5jgcn5LTS3JuQwK-kKlHLMJMKkCem4/s400/Ailuuyabelf2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
She's even a redhead. I also finally got around to taking Tyl and Ailuuya over to Tanaan even if they have yet to do much there. In the process I discovered that tall characters have facial expressions during the cutscene where you open Lion's Watch. I managed to capture these gems:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQXr9MdWkIzCEw9AHXMmOiexDf_NYz4M4XbLLR9I9z5rIXyWCRE3yESlngoEEXDBOH561lMatbNzBRM1aeNq467PQvS5i_LBtMJgrkFBWUjO3AkvJxT3svn1SrxeBKWyxVHXXp96mO-dY/s1600/YougotmeanoutpostOMG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="353" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQXr9MdWkIzCEw9AHXMmOiexDf_NYz4M4XbLLR9I9z5rIXyWCRE3yESlngoEEXDBOH561lMatbNzBRM1aeNq467PQvS5i_LBtMJgrkFBWUjO3AkvJxT3svn1SrxeBKWyxVHXXp96mO-dY/s400/YougotmeanoutpostOMG.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I am not sure I've ever seen anybody this excited over a map. Tyl's really liking the idea of hunting in the jungle I guess.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Ailuuya on the other hand: "There are HOW many demons out here?!"<br />

I've been spending a fair bit of time on Vaelanys, RPing and occasionally just exploring, so here are a couple of my favorite screenshots with him.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal">
The Dark
Portal was worse than he had ever imagined. He thought it had gone worse than
any of them could have envisioned. Vaelanys had expected battle. It had <b>been </b>almost a massacre. Damarianth's
Lynxes had been a proud company, nearly fifty strong, but they were routed,
more than half their number lost. What remained fled before he and the paladin
beside him, a long, straggling, broken line whose beginning was out of sight in
the jungle. He thought the rest of the Horde's forces had lost even more.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
He hadn't
escaped unscathed. He wasn't sure any of them had, but the pain in his wounded
leg was minor and troubled him far less that the distant sounds of battle
behind them. He and Damarianth turned as one to look, but for the moment there
was neither pursuit nor the more welcome sign that some straggling Lynx would
have been. Neither of them spoke, though when the paladin tugged the reins to
keep his charger at a walk, Vaelanys mirrored the gesture and felt the
hawkstrider tense under him, ruffled feathers scraping at his leathers. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
They
watched the last red and gold tabard vanish over a small rise ahead of them,
and once more Vaelanys looked over his shoulder, and then back at the dense
trees ahead of them, wondering if what they were running into was really any
better than what they fled. "Where will we go?" he asked finally and
was pleased to find that his voice sounded calm and steady even if he felt
nothing of the sort.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"I
don't know." The paladin tucked one gauntleted hand under the opposite
elbow, pulling the heavy glove off long enough to let his bare fingers push
sweat and hair from his eyes. "Have to find a place we can retreat to and
try to fortify. Regroup, tend the wounded then see if we can contact any of the
Horde forces that are left." If there were any left.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Vaelanys
nodded. What neither of them said was that all that depended on whether they
even survived the jungle. "Are they okay? At the front?" His head
tilted slightly in the direction the vanished line had gone.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Kieryl's
at the front. He'll be watching them."
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
They both
turned another look over their shoulders. But no more red tabards straggled
into sight, no more fleeing mounts ran past them. More than half. He had known
them only a week and Vaelanys's heart ached for it. He couldn't imagine what
Damarianth felt. None of it showed in the paladin's face, but Vaelanys knew the
look of a noble's composed mask when he saw it. He wore it often enough
himself. "Let's catch..." But before he'd even finished the words an
earth shattering roar made Tyrn spin beneath him. He caught a brief and
dizzying glimpse of what looked like a moving hillside before he steadied the
warstrider beneath him.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Light..."
In the ringing silence that followed the roar he heard Damarianth's prayerful
whisper. Both of them stared up at the Gronn. Into its single mad and furious
eye and then higher to the heavy cannon mounted on its hunched shoulders.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The bottom
dropped out of Vaelanys's stomach, and for a moment his hands on the reins were
numb. Beside him Damarianth seemed similarly frozen, but it was the paladin who
moved first, slowly tugging his gauntlet back on and then very deliberately
reaching up to loosen his shield and mace from his back. Vaelanys stared
at him, but the paladin's eyes were fixed on the gronn.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Damarianth
couldn't mean to fight that. There was no way the two of them could possibly
win. But then it moved again and Vaelanys understood. It covered what felt like
half the distance between them in a few strides. It had been only moments since
the last of the Lynxes had vanished from sight. One numb hand lifted over his
shoulder to close on his staff. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Get
them out, Vaelanys." The paladin's eyes stayed on the gronn. "You
keep my people alive and you get them out. Do you understand me?"</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"You
can't stop it, Damarianth. No one could. I can't let you..."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"That
is an ORDER, Sunthorn. You get my people. And you get them out."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"There
has to be another way." His own jaw set as he stared up at the gronn and
it moved again.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Now!
Go." The paladin heeled the reluctant charger forward one walking step.
"And tell Kieryl..." Their eyes met as for the first time since the
gronn appeared Damarianth looked at him, but a second later the paladin shook
his head and turned away. "Never mind, I'll catch up. But don't let them
wait. Keep them alive. GO!"</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"I
will try." He obeyed. Vaelanys hated himself for it even as he did but he
turned Tyrn and heeled the strider away. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Behind him
he heard Damarianth yell and one glance over his shoulder showed him the paladin,
long white braid whipping behind him as he rode the charger straight at the
gronn. "Fangs of the Eversong!"</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
He didn't look back a second time and he felt
like a coward as he dug his heels into the strider's sides again and leaned
forward against the feathered neck. But he didn't want to even hear what would
happen. Sunwell, he did not want to hear that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
***</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"We
can't wait any longer." Vaelanys told the weary, dirt smudged, rebellious
faces around him. He'd disobeyed that much, let them wait a few moments miles
away in the lee of large stone, though it had been more for the wounded than
any real hope for Damarianth. "We have to move."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"WE'RE
NOT LEAVING!" Kieryl snapped at him, throwing his shield to the ground at
his feet. "We're not leaving him. YOU might be coward enough to run and
leave him to fight alone, but the <b>rest</b>
of us will stand with him."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Vaelanys's
own anger rose, along with his own stinging hurt that he knew was no match for
the smaller paladin's agony. The butt of his staff slammed the ground as he
stood. "I followed ORDERS! And he told me to go and he told me to get you
out and I will be damned to a place worse than this if I fail! Now get the rest
of them up, get the wounded up and MOVE!"</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Then
you can go straight to wherever that is." Kieryl snarled. He could see the
muscles working as the smaller paladin's jaw clenched tight. "Because I'm
not leaving him."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
He
understood, Sunwell but he understood the pain in Kieryl's voice and face. It
tore at him until it took every ounce of his own control to keep it from
showing in his features. "You are." He said firmly. "Either on
your own feet or hog-tied over Tyrn's back. He gave me an order. He gave <b>us</b> an order and we are going to obey
it. Pick up your shield."</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
It
surprised him a little when after spitting at his feet the smaller paladin
obeyed, picking up his shield and turning his back. Even through the plate he
could see the angry set of Kieryl's shoulders. But that sign had been what it
took for those that hadn't yet risen to begin, rising and tugging the worst of
the injured to their feet. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Get
Anrastas onto Tyrn. I can walk." Vaelanys watched them move to obey,
scooping the barely conscious warrior onto the warstrider's back. Tal'efir
picked up the last tattered red and gold Lynx banner from where it had been
propped up against the stone. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Kieryl
stood a little away, his back to them, looking not the way they'd go, but back
the way they'd come. His armor grated once with some small movement and
Vaelanys wondered if he wept. But when he turned back his eyes were hard and
bright and dry. "Where we going?" He demanded.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
"Out
of this jungle. Somewhere we can fortify." It wasn't really an answer but
it was the best he had. "What we're going to do first is stay alive."
He wished he had some balm for their grief, and for his own. "You can
leave him a sign. I'm sure you have one, some secret sign for missions. Leave
some as we go. If he can come he'll know where to look." It felt wrong to
say it, to offer hope where he knew there was none but if it gave them even a
fragile thread to cling to and keep moving Vaelanys would use it.<br />
He didn't
watch as Kieryl moved to scoop up rocks and scrape at the stone where they'd
rested, but he waited until he'd finished and until they'd all begun to move
out before he followed. Vaelanys didn't look back. His attention was focused on
the way ahead of them and the promise he'd made. He'd never wanted this
responsibility. He didn't feel qualified to handle it. But what he wanted
didn't matter. It was his now. They were his now, to protect if he could, or to
die like Damarianth in trying.</div>

Aside from raiding with my wonderful raid buddies and Tanaan most of what I've been doing with my game time at this point in the expansion has been RP and character story writing. So as <a href="https://kamaliaetalia.wordpress.com/">Kamalia</a> was nice enough to suggest, I thought I'd put up at least a couple of the mostly finished snippets for Vaelanys, my RP server character. This is the first part of the story of how he ended up in Draenor and in command of something.<br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> His face hurt from forcing himself to smile. His throat ached from making himself speak charming words, but the party was over, and as he finally closed the door to his chambers behind him Vaelanys's shoulders slumped. For just a moment he let go of the tension of pretending to be happy, before another sort of tension filled him. He crossed the room in two strides, slammed his palms down on the solid top of the wooden desk hard enough that his bones ached for the impact. "Light damn it." He whispered.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> The side of his right fist struck the desk a second time, far less violently. He stared unseeing down at the blank parchment on the desk. She'd ruined everything. He wasn't sure if it made it better or worse to know that she'd only meant to help him. Perhaps neither. His breaths were ragged in his own ears, and his eyes prickled dangerously close to angry tears he wasn't going to let himself shed.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> He'd wanted, he'd -intended- to go serve the Horde and just march on the Dark Portal with the rest wherever they saw fit to send him. It was what he'd done in Northrend, just turned up and taken the duty they gave him. He'd earn his own way or he wouldn't, but either way it would be something <b>he'd</b> done. It was the first thing that had made him feel like there was a purpose in his life in years.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> His mother would never know the effort it had cost him to smile and thank her when she'd handed him the rather crumpled paper now tucked into his belt. He'd probably never know the number of favors she'd called in to get it. Assistant Commander under Damarianth Spearsong. Second in command, of a force he'd never even met, and when he hadn't even left the city since just before Arthas fell. So much for earning his own way.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"> He just wouldn't go. But the rebellious thought had no sooner formed itself in his mind than Vaelanys rejected it. He couldn't stand to stay. No matter what it cost his pride to go. No matter how wrong it felt. No matter how little this felt like what he'd wanted when he made up his mind he was leaving. He slumped slowly into the chair, one hand coming up to press against his face. He felt like she'd taken something from him with this. After a moment it came to him what that was. His freedom.</span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFOUTCiv2qbnUB8LpKhK9zWbcabvWzhojb3tn1SsGTlJSsDC9ENEm_3qIRXkFwO6hgBj4Hyb8QgwT4R4t6GuSanDxDWrem2AoOROweEESAXyWhf5pwDRvldr7HFvG1t0lgpneQ9fznEs0/s1600/TaiTanaan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFOUTCiv2qbnUB8LpKhK9zWbcabvWzhojb3tn1SsGTlJSsDC9ENEm_3qIRXkFwO6hgBj4Hyb8QgwT4R4t6GuSanDxDWrem2AoOROweEESAXyWhf5pwDRvldr7HFvG1t0lgpneQ9fznEs0/s400/TaiTanaan.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I've been spending a lot of time in Tanaan, and I've only even opened it with two characters. Tai and Os had gone ahead and finished all that stuff they hadn't bothered with before the patch. The rest of Nagrand for Loremaster, some exploration, some treasure hunting. The last few dailies for securing Draenor as they showed up on the table. So all that was left was the reps.<br />
But the first night the day the patch hit I didn't even bother trying until late in the evening. I heard horror stories about lines and waits and I was in no rush to deal with that. No, the first thing I did in 6.2 was send Rim around to purchase a set of holy paladin plate heirlooms!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjExQiwlII-zo3aAsy14NOgH-bnx_qHBsHM2i-VqflZ8AkIQH2C64UxDMyJHS8Rbwl7MkSUT_ZN9thRzlJHv_Mho84g0GWmy7QT3mJovOes5nb0a6uAFknO1AS1fV6b994roRS8YMFOu84/s1600/HolyPallyheirlooms.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="363" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjExQiwlII-zo3aAsy14NOgH-bnx_qHBsHM2i-VqflZ8AkIQH2C64UxDMyJHS8Rbwl7MkSUT_ZN9thRzlJHv_Mho84g0GWmy7QT3mJovOes5nb0a6uAFknO1AS1fV6b994roRS8YMFOu84/s400/HolyPallyheirlooms.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
And if that might be a new little blood elf holy paladin wearing them? What of it?<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLYXG7LEuSo5vZBFlSdn30jY-zqPrOOtTmUloBLxrVJE0anG4TH-61sXfKYAYPiq8QplLGMjLQxPgbwduJ1pTEJAEmA0W6fmn4l6LUZgpwtZ5NrtD65p28B7BHxr3LdoSmhG16oMUQgGA/s1600/Jungleduty.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLYXG7LEuSo5vZBFlSdn30jY-zqPrOOtTmUloBLxrVJE0anG4TH-61sXfKYAYPiq8QplLGMjLQxPgbwduJ1pTEJAEmA0W6fmn4l6LUZgpwtZ5NrtD65p28B7BHxr3LdoSmhG16oMUQgGA/s400/Jungleduty.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
That evening and the next day both Tai and Os and Vaelanys and his new hunter friend made their way to Tanaan. And for a few weeks I was doing all the dailies faithfully twice a day on two Mistweavers. I don't know exactly how this happened. Tai finished the reps last night. Vae had his trading post up sooner and beat him to getting the big achievement by a day but it's Tai's in my book. And it's done, so maybe now I'll consider taking some of the others on over.<br />
In the meantime Ailuuya's still got Yrel hanging out in her garrison so I couldn't resist snapping some pictures of their matching armor. Ailuuya even took off her helmet for the occasion.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizbAfAtI2OEwvb94NmTT1Oq_qdYpXN5vPmY_LTPNirVP3qrXBrBwYCqfpEjB4RosB8Dn04rahVMcTPrRnMhzlj-RpY9r8SNbfWmB2t_pgXPAN6k6MhTBBY9_oGC21bOPYKd_R9e3Tqvuc/s1600/Twins.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="358" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizbAfAtI2OEwvb94NmTT1Oq_qdYpXN5vPmY_LTPNirVP3qrXBrBwYCqfpEjB4RosB8Dn04rahVMcTPrRnMhzlj-RpY9r8SNbfWmB2t_pgXPAN6k6MhTBBY9_oGC21bOPYKd_R9e3Tqvuc/s400/Twins.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The rest of them will get over there sooner rather than later, I hope, now that the worst of the pressure for running them with friends twice daily is over, even if I would still like to finish out those reps.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKNU93NUOXRLkmjelssKh4pjt9Flf2KAshGnhjv7NfpqDLDmRkRbiidHCzx_iUizwVRa63KMH-voyvV3wRZS5xvNlet_FepP2qHvYRvQvCKcuL4ChhF0mZ4G1KAztSspBuvpRnjlFwsuY/s1600/VaeTanaan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKNU93NUOXRLkmjelssKh4pjt9Flf2KAshGnhjv7NfpqDLDmRkRbiidHCzx_iUizwVRa63KMH-voyvV3wRZS5xvNlet_FepP2qHvYRvQvCKcuL4ChhF0mZ4G1KAztSspBuvpRnjlFwsuY/s400/VaeTanaan.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Vaelanys still rides his warstrider everywhere. Apparently it's tougher than it looks or something.<br />
And I hate to shame Tai for his luck, but I feel really bad. It's so hard to get tags on Deathtalon and the rest. They're dead almost as soon as they spawn so it's mainly a matter of getting lucky and being somewhere near the right place at the right time. So Tai and Os have only had a few cracks at them, yet somehow Tai has managed to acquire all the mounts. But poor Os hasn't had one drop yet. I was really sad looting the last one because I couldn't just share.<br />

So flying isn't gone after all. I'm glad to hear it. Not just because that means eventually when Seish gives the order the raven will actually take off, but because it gives me a bit more hope that Blizzard is actually listening to their players.<br /> I'm not going to complain at all about the achievement. I think it's pretty spot on for what it should be. My only minor quibble/hope is that there will be dailies for those rep grinds. I like dailies. I always have. I miss them. Other than that honestly I'd have been fine with it rewarding flying to all my level 100 alts. Giving it to them at 90 seems very generous.<br />
Perhaps the best part of this, though is actually feeling like I have a reason to log in again. Tai and Os have been elected to do the achieve and they're putting in work on it here and there. They were close on most of the things they needed as it was, so now that there's a reason for it they're out there checking off boxes.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOjaq1elIC-BC2UQFPCfIpf7OH1pK_0v_62xQIwadmbVIXzpKzT6EzyWxH7SSk7uJBhOdM8yt_hVK-tx08_8bHtwCjiU2bXUhCtyYmAC2MC_lSBGgz1V4HdzehzsCEyVEnACKVZJaxtBM/s1600/VaelanysSpires.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="365" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOjaq1elIC-BC2UQFPCfIpf7OH1pK_0v_62xQIwadmbVIXzpKzT6EzyWxH7SSk7uJBhOdM8yt_hVK-tx08_8bHtwCjiU2bXUhCtyYmAC2MC_lSBGgz1V4HdzehzsCEyVEnACKVZJaxtBM/s400/VaelanysSpires.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The other thing I've accomplished is leveling my 8th 100. This is Vaelanys. He lives on an RP server. He languished at level 75 for a very long time, but finally yesterday he hit 100, an expansion later than I meant him to, but better late than never.<br />
The thing I am not sure I want to talk about is that yes, he is another Mistweaver Monk. Yes that means that I currently have as many level 100 monks as I do paladins. Yes, that means that with 8 characters at 100 I've got three paladins, three monks, and two hunters. I probably have a problem(or three).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-slbIVJhrEV9wRQd-VrLJPbcpOEcglDbgS5LKxtLwVxwYhccmYTV1kYGZF4b2zwKowzqeCsZpfagK1L62208yY1J961MCVj5sBRYqmzYT9BtTVa5CDKJ14vUa9U1tsHmFvCn3OO-Lzzs/s1600/VaelanysAedaSpires.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-slbIVJhrEV9wRQd-VrLJPbcpOEcglDbgS5LKxtLwVxwYhccmYTV1kYGZF4b2zwKowzqeCsZpfagK1L62208yY1J961MCVj5sBRYqmzYT9BtTVa5CDKJ14vUa9U1tsHmFvCn3OO-Lzzs/s400/VaelanysAedaSpires.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
He was leveled by himself so he took Aeda with him for about the second half of the process. She was helpful when she wasn't dead. At level 100 he went to do proving grounds. I didn't expect it to go well. His ilvl was 607 and it took Tai a few goes. But he one shot it. It was relatively simple. But here's a small rant. If I have to do these on every single character, regardless of whether I have done it on that specific class and spec before... can we please just have the achievements for it not be account wide? It would be helpful not only for remembering whether I've done it on a given character or not... and also give me a shiny feeling of accomplishment when it flashed up on screen.<br />
I'm still not sure my faith is entirely restored, but I'm glad they listened about flying. I'm glad they made it an achievement that should be accessible to anybody who wants to put in the time to do it rather than tying it to the ring or raiding in some way. And I'm really hoping we can start looking forward to a little more level 100 content outside of raids. But in the meantime outside of raids there's still transmog.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUfjS-MudPF1zK_We2Rt9XHxji-KRqh1JPMz8GYu6AZAeiUcE2f49zO3b-i7nSoKSMwLmXlXCVa-ZfI-Gwb9JYT_FvYWyt_OP1_3AngC40un_KFTcJZQmX6eEhMmStlDXysh596yhh-Hk/s1600/Vaelanys100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUfjS-MudPF1zK_We2Rt9XHxji-KRqh1JPMz8GYu6AZAeiUcE2f49zO3b-i7nSoKSMwLmXlXCVa-ZfI-Gwb9JYT_FvYWyt_OP1_3AngC40un_KFTcJZQmX6eEhMmStlDXysh596yhh-Hk/s400/Vaelanys100.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
And here's Vae's transmog. On an RP server these things are important.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-65749259717065664132015-05-26T19:46:00.000-07:002015-05-26T19:46:33.453-07:00You can take the sky from me... <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But I am not in any way obligated to like it. This post isn't all about flying, but it's a lot about flying. Feel free not to read the rest of it if you've read enough on that topic, I wouldn't blame you at all. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I remember back when I first started playing this game, one of the things that first sold me on it was the realization that if I leveled high enough my character could FLY! Not only that, but they could acquire and ride actual dragons. Sold! Many of the things I might have looked forward to while leveling were maybe not all they were cracked up to be or exactly what I imagined but I never felt that way about flying. I could fly. I could fly up to the tops of mountains and land in trees and explore every little nook and cranny of an area to see what was there. I could take dramatic screenshots of my character on dragonback against the sky.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Of the many things I loved and probably took for granted the most in World of Warcraft it was that when you get to a certain level... you can fly. You have to shell out gold every expansion, you have to hit the new level cap, but when you do you get your wings. I've -never- had a problem with waiting to level cap for flying. Heck I liked leveling on the ground because it made the wings an added incentive at the end. I was never one of the people who felt like my alts should get flying before max. I was willing to make the journey there on the ground every time before I got to spread my wings.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I'm heartbroken to think that's not coming back, that I'll never get to fly around Spires of Arak like I fantasized about from the moment I saw the zone for the first time. I won't get to have that moment I had in Pandaria when I hit max level and flew to every peak in the Jade Forest to see the top. Because apparently that makes me not take the time to appreciate the world the designers have made. I could argue that, but I won't. Because even though flying feels like a sort of catalyst and turning point it's not what has me feeling so sad and miserable and wistful. It's just the thing that's finally made what was bugging me click into place in my head so I can understand it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiDRiEou75_Jhyphenhyphen2Oy0NL2IonlQ0-G1iUTA5MpTMMocXLlVp9HtVu4h1WzcDgd7HlgsQ1amIId921OAeFhs0pUcxdV7Fc5IL6Na4Xt691BrNIfgsVb0PXR7tE64FDJEESrD-PwsKcZI0U4/s1600/MoonoverSilvermoon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiDRiEou75_Jhyphenhyphen2Oy0NL2IonlQ0-G1iUTA5MpTMMocXLlVp9HtVu4h1WzcDgd7HlgsQ1amIId921OAeFhs0pUcxdV7Fc5IL6Na4Xt691BrNIfgsVb0PXR7tE64FDJEESrD-PwsKcZI0U4/s400/MoonoverSilvermoon.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This isn't a quitting post. Not yet. But it is a 'thinking harder about quitting than I ever thought I would' post. And it's not even just because of the flying. Silvermoon City has no flying and though I have always dreamed about flying up to the spires and balconies and exploring them I accept that it doesn't and I love it anyway. Maybe it's partly because of how the whole situation was handled. I don't need to go over how we were so indirectly given the news. But I'd like to mention that as of this morning this ad was still on the front page:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6RTiNVq5tolXSPanxZHg76j4_gPHs_QP1nU8wm2yTJ2Md0U7uTtyMrtq6PYEZhHWpO0r_C-QjtTfWA0-A3djXUmvFmZMuEiFvcbwYgkS2rWAVzPOMBRc-A10tYSrGiSUsI7b5HzBjjPU/s1600/deceptive+ad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="246" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6RTiNVq5tolXSPanxZHg76j4_gPHs_QP1nU8wm2yTJ2Md0U7uTtyMrtq6PYEZhHWpO0r_C-QjtTfWA0-A3djXUmvFmZMuEiFvcbwYgkS2rWAVzPOMBRc-A10tYSrGiSUsI7b5HzBjjPU/s400/deceptive+ad.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I didn't buy the mount, that's a whole other kettle of somewhat related fish, but I feel bad for the people that did maybe thinking that ad implied it was going to fly in Draenor at any point in the future. 'Cause you know, there it is... flying in Draenor.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
No what my problem comes down to is that I don't feel like this is at all the same game it was. Not because things have changed. I'm used to the changes between expansions in how to play, but when I compare what's actually there in the game now to what was there in Mists, and even in Cataclysm, well the answer is that it doesn't feel like much. This Blizzard isn't the one that made Silvermoon. It's not even the one that made Pandaria, and honestly illogical as it is the decisions lately make me feel almost as though they are deliberately trying to kill the game for some reason. I can't imagine any reason why they'd do that, but time and time again I realize that is what it feels like to me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And that's why for the first time ever I'm feeling like I might need a break or something. I love this game. I love the people I play with in it, but right now I have no love or trust for the people who are making it. Every time I log on now I feel a little rush of sadness that I never felt before. And so I'm tempted to walk away because I don't want to watch them break it. If flying can be taken out regardless of what it's likely to do to the sub numbers, maybe all those other things I love in the game and have taken for granted can go next. Maybe one day Silvermoon won't be there either.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In my opinion there were a lot of ways they could have compromised on the flying. If they want to be sure people do the jumping puzzles as they intended, put in an achieve for doing them all before flying is added, tie them to flying even. Or better yet put in the achieve and rather than making flying tied to that... or a boring gold sink like it always has been make a quest chain to get it back. A quest chain that takes you on the ground in every zone, a chain that ties it into the lore of Draenor and is maybe even just a little bit challenging at the end. Make it so when you get it back you've -earned- it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Make it so alts need to do it even, then not only do you give people back their flying, but you have them out in the world exploring it to get it. On the ground. And what's more you'd have added some lore behind something that's never made any sense... and you'd have given all those level 100s something to do besides stare at the garrison walls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'm not leaving over this, but I'm switching to paying with tokens for a bit, even though I'd intended to keep up a real money payment plan. I'll be spreading my wings to try some other games out. I'll still be on for raiding and for some of my garrison chores, and most of all for my friends (the ones that are still playing) but I am abandoning my alt leveling projects and some other things until I figure out what I really want to do or until I stop feeling sad when I log on.</div>

This post is full of complaining and possibly somewhat unreasonable irritation. I don't think it is unreasonable but being the one who is irritated I wouldn't. You've been warned. This isn't a post about the things I feel are wrong with Warlords. Others have expressed those things far better and more eloquently than me: <a href="http://thegrumpyelf.blogspot.com/">Grumpy Elf</a> and <a href="https://misdirections.wordpress.com/">Misdirections</a> to name a very few. This is about one very specific and probably silly thing: Male blood elf models.<br />
I have been trying so hard to like these new models, I've been staring at them since the patch and trying to find the things I like in them. There are things. They're not 100% bad. But this post isn't even about how much I hate the facial proportions. This is about the fact that in places these models are flat out broken.<br />
This first one is perhaps a minor quibble, but still something I feel should never have made it into live as it is. This is a very iconic Blood Elf hair style. Lor'themar himself wears it.But the hair clips into the cheek and ear every time they turn their heads while idling. There are several helmets that aren't usable any more due to clipping issues: Veils that clip through the nose, circlets that clip into the forehead, but armor clipping has always been a thing, annoying as it is. This, though, that's his hair, I don't feel like it should clip into him that way, especially not during something as basic as just standing around.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibW3Vj03Ahg9xMBfqU3-ORbjZlChdL3cF4fPUW2jXB8Ms7B8iOs_9-TA4zJGPV_uj01Xv84VgvirhOZ8r3eFMGHmau8uJIFqNRJ0vO4VgZfz23UNoNlwDAjKvMwmSp4mHce63n3RuHlRM/s1600/Brokenmodel1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="370" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibW3Vj03Ahg9xMBfqU3-ORbjZlChdL3cF4fPUW2jXB8Ms7B8iOs_9-TA4zJGPV_uj01Xv84VgvirhOZ8r3eFMGHmau8uJIFqNRJ0vO4VgZfz23UNoNlwDAjKvMwmSp4mHce63n3RuHlRM/s400/Brokenmodel1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
The next one is the thing that upsets me most. This is a screenshot I took today while Aug was out trapping. This isn't the first time I noticed this issue because I've been staring at it since the beta. It was posted about multiple times in the forums before they ever went live. But every time I go out to trap or do dungeons or anything where Aug does that thing that hunters do and runs and shoots at the same time... I get to see this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBDTZ23Sa7UAgGI_HUMeMU7VWeYx6RukT9SWUpZ6Nd-rbz9ZOz6SRmotv2xJoy72hyfyB5XPoJ2ylS7hMh_AbCbiAgGzVerkNhPComQfOBBul7yEgjMqsTCTedykmd_sE_-YfnhH5QWsg/s1600/Brokenmodel2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="331" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBDTZ23Sa7UAgGI_HUMeMU7VWeYx6RukT9SWUpZ6Nd-rbz9ZOz6SRmotv2xJoy72hyfyB5XPoJ2ylS7hMh_AbCbiAgGzVerkNhPComQfOBBul7yEgjMqsTCTedykmd_sE_-YfnhH5QWsg/s400/Brokenmodel2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
This isn't okay. It's not something about models moving that way, my male night elf doesn't have this problem. I don't know if the female blood elves do, but it makes it very hard to enjoy playing my hunter when I keep noticing this. We don't get to have flying mounts this expansion because 'immersion'. What do you suppose <b>this</b> does to 'immersion'?<br />
This next one is a minor quibble. I've got a little male night elf, Tyndellan. He uses the hairstyle that's equivalent to Tai's. And since the model update it's awesome. His braids sway when he moves and when he jumps they do this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvj2ehvA0Q7UA8Od8_Jxi8miNndxbNVEq5e74LX96zykNsvNQbHPGB09rzwLOSwTxIZ1m5sl9W7RvWbrgADP8p29ZuvzJGq_Ppjb69qx4yR0qtfx4OLhDWo4KoJ8sRmd-XBiLDQna5SIs/s1600/Braids1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvj2ehvA0Q7UA8Od8_Jxi8miNndxbNVEq5e74LX96zykNsvNQbHPGB09rzwLOSwTxIZ1m5sl9W7RvWbrgADP8p29ZuvzJGq_Ppjb69qx4yR0qtfx4OLhDWo4KoJ8sRmd-XBiLDQna5SIs/s400/Braids1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
When male night elf new models went live and I saw this I was so excited. I couldn't wait for Tai's hair to get this update. Here's a screenshot of what Tai's hair does when he jumps... and when he stands... and when he does... anything:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2NoUJ7S4909VDKPuxnW2mOKQfyu27GXZdK5uV_PrSPtrvWj6c9Rjg4rFcUsDylzhNPuIrjkotcEwWXKHrq_n0IWkOFtho9xK5KwmnOsz-GlpANS_qCuA-iye5Ht93oCn2KUjwvS3BGjg/s1600/Braids2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="274" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2NoUJ7S4909VDKPuxnW2mOKQfyu27GXZdK5uV_PrSPtrvWj6c9Rjg4rFcUsDylzhNPuIrjkotcEwWXKHrq_n0IWkOFtho9xK5KwmnOsz-GlpANS_qCuA-iye5Ht93oCn2KUjwvS3BGjg/s320/Braids2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Nothing. It's glued to him or something. Which it was in the old models too and which I probably wouldn't mind if I hadn't seen what it <b>could</b> be.<br />
There is a lot more. I could probably rant on this for a while, but I think this is enough. I will just say though, that we waited longer for our model update than anybody else and I feel extremely insulted that what we got in the end is flat out broken in ways I haven't noticed in any other models. It makes it worse that I looked at the patch notes and didn't see anything about blood elves getting any tweaks at all, unlike the other races who had a lot of minor problems that had gone live fixed entirely by those.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-89301948985666291562015-05-07T12:00:00.001-07:002015-05-07T12:01:01.743-07:00Darnassus Hunter Transmog: Tyl Tyl's been going through several different mogs since hitting 100. Most of them just thrown together with things I happened to have. His current mog was almost entirely an accident, born of pieces I picked up running ICC 25m and the desire to make something around one of the new leafy bow models. It was only after I finished it that I realized that not only does it accidentally match his favorite corehound pet but that he also fits pretty well with his tabard and home city. So here's the Night Elf equivalent of <a href="http://plentyofpaladins.blogspot.com/2014/02/roygbiv-transmog-augs-red-silvermoon.html">Aug's Silvermoon Archer</a> transmog. A hunter of Darnassus:<br />

The gloves could possibly be a better match, but I loved the model for these so much that I had to use them. They just look so right for archery to me. The cape has far more blue in it than the rest but it matches Tyl's coloring and is another piece I couldn't resist an excuse for using even if maybe I could have picked a better match.<br />

I've been busy in game since the last time I posted. Not long after Rothorin and his priest friend got together and managed to knock out the last two levels they needed.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiTDa97xPgiHpJyg8in7oSs6wawRFYtN7q-iISiUWvnsNYKsHOg6fP8EnDJPZy0PGPyFamfq8vnqzB-hvXUIGjx4ranv2GCFDMTa644uPj-4n2oZPhBUc3EEUNTCxlm0sMq6Iopzr6Qm8/s1600/Rothorin100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiTDa97xPgiHpJyg8in7oSs6wawRFYtN7q-iISiUWvnsNYKsHOg6fP8EnDJPZy0PGPyFamfq8vnqzB-hvXUIGjx4ranv2GCFDMTa644uPj-4n2oZPhBUc3EEUNTCxlm0sMq6Iopzr6Qm8/s1600/Rothorin100.jpg" height="276" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
I'd leveled him as Brewmaster and been working on setting up his bars and learning some tricks, so of course when I hit 100 I did what I usually do as one of my first tasks(after getting a bunch of garrison stuff under construction) and went to pay the Proving Grounds a visit. I didn't expect it to go well. The only tank I consider myself to be kind of good at playing is a paladin. Imagine my surprise then when I one-shot the bronze challenge. And the even greater surprise that followed when I did the same with silver. I don't even feel like I entirely know what I'm doing on Rothorin as Brewmaster but he had and easier time of Proving Grounds than Rim.</div>
<div>
A few days after I took Tyl through a couple of dungeons to pick up the last level he needed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2GQkdmj2R7N_pdIQERsb0vScOIq1q9XdQwRs1-w4IIlOd5eax658rqAyeP_wabZp2ANJRp50UFL8iH2jocK1jernBY3OzxUSjHuZkLR50ZmoAS6wyWX55su941DJhCX4lZn9c5thataU/s1600/Tyl100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2GQkdmj2R7N_pdIQERsb0vScOIq1q9XdQwRs1-w4IIlOd5eax658rqAyeP_wabZp2ANJRp50UFL8iH2jocK1jernBY3OzxUSjHuZkLR50ZmoAS6wyWX55su941DJhCX4lZn9c5thataU/s1600/Tyl100.jpg" height="216" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
I was happy to finally get him to 100. I still think of him as my Alliance main and it felt wrong having him wait around so long before hitting max level. </div>
<div>
This left my account oddly symmetrical as far as maxed characters go. Holy Paladin, Beast Mastery Hunter, and Brewmaster Monk on Alliance, Protection Paladin, Survival Hunter, Mistweaver Monk on Horde. My Horde leanings wouldn't let that stand very long and as luck would have it Seish and I finally managed to catch SprYte's Rozae and grab some levels for them. Lots of laughter and ridiculous selfies happened.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimBla6SNnSFLM1U-g3c7VfAn1zIYuK2aRL398YiFY7jvj6-hpD1icgrVYsjq-O3uHbNKIFdDG_UDiP0bu-8jyG2aOb2pijaXMTU12obO3LsAwu3IhCBPbWLDbcF4m6lfwt8RgGnna_8is/s1600/SeishRozleveling.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimBla6SNnSFLM1U-g3c7VfAn1zIYuK2aRL398YiFY7jvj6-hpD1icgrVYsjq-O3uHbNKIFdDG_UDiP0bu-8jyG2aOb2pijaXMTU12obO3LsAwu3IhCBPbWLDbcF4m6lfwt8RgGnna_8is/s1600/SeishRozleveling.jpg" height="252" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
This one is probably my favorite. A rare dropped a cloth dress and Seish talked Rozae into wearing it. Then took a selfie with him and laughed. Nice, Seish, really nice. But somehow amidst all their goofing they hit 100 too.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLGxwtVHUSb-S3XOD_8dmGnTx1mz_LOoM7RRrsgnHXVLfYPLXzkb240m-UxMDYbircL37hTikPAMpby3mtVHowtceeQ34ST8jwKPQnkwo0D851hQpof9OWLdg_pgM-yioyhgOJ4bMO_34/s1600/Seish100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLGxwtVHUSb-S3XOD_8dmGnTx1mz_LOoM7RRrsgnHXVLfYPLXzkb240m-UxMDYbircL37hTikPAMpby3mtVHowtceeQ34ST8jwKPQnkwo0D851hQpof9OWLdg_pgM-yioyhgOJ4bMO_34/s1600/Seish100.jpg" height="261" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
Here's another Seish selfie in less mismatched armor, enjoying his newly leveled garrison. The plan is to follow <a href="https://dwarvendistrict.wordpress.com/2015/01/23/for-ironforge/">Shoryl's Plan</a> here only with Blood Elves rather than dwarves. Seish is a little bit of a racist anyhow so if he can get away with mostly working with his own people... he will. So far recruitment has been a bit frustrating. He's at 5/25 belfs. Aug is having far better luck at the same project and has 8/25</div>
<div>
And in between that and the increased garrison chores (They add up even if I usually only do profession cooldowns on most of them) I've had a few other happy moments. Seish got the achievement for 3000 quests and not long after finally got his fortieth exalted reputation (I think he's still missing some of the Pandaria ones Rim and Tai did). For one thing... <a href="https://tomeoftheancient.wordpress.com/2015/04/30/camping-tome-and-cats-animal-shelter/">Tome's Cat</a> had a pet shelter post and Tyl was lucky enough to be given this charming fellow: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcwelhZI9E64HKxzNd8-onkpc2AhmVzRnfRcxoyz3nVZrNQ3OLBdscgl9mIU4ofPUoti-X9oW37l99QLouuIoGFG2LnU0Ur8-wCdjxExTQnHlwmByfR5gE6eY77XHqpbu40EIc9zOiuMI/s1600/TylTomepet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcwelhZI9E64HKxzNd8-onkpc2AhmVzRnfRcxoyz3nVZrNQ3OLBdscgl9mIU4ofPUoti-X9oW37l99QLouuIoGFG2LnU0Ur8-wCdjxExTQnHlwmByfR5gE6eY77XHqpbu40EIc9zOiuMI/s1600/TylTomepet.jpg" height="283" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
Thanks so much, to Cat and her pet shelter. I promise he'll have a good home. And on a particularly miserable day for me Helke whispered out of the blue to tell me she had a goodie for me. Tai flew straight over to Durotar to meet a young orc who gave him the pet from Sunwell I'd been most excited over.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUzvz6HgBQ6XT94e6AsajZ6qOmqQOurCCtmSO9dkbIgcI6Nt718XDHty_xy_xt4zbv7LyK7rKlDazng4nvk67pzUzvJmQ_NxXGnF6_tMozvhWoBjVZycKNPV5HvLK_qlSFV3Bgl2Jlsa8/s1600/TaiHelkepet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUzvz6HgBQ6XT94e6AsajZ6qOmqQOurCCtmSO9dkbIgcI6Nt718XDHty_xy_xt4zbv7LyK7rKlDazng4nvk67pzUzvJmQ_NxXGnF6_tMozvhWoBjVZycKNPV5HvLK_qlSFV3Bgl2Jlsa8/s1600/TaiHelkepet.jpg" height="251" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
Not sure why I was so excited over it... it's creepy, especially with a pet biscuit making it almost life sized. But I still am. Thanks so much for brightening my day, Helke.</div>
<div>
And then I been working on some alts. Not the 90s patiently waiting to be leveled to 100. Oh no... other alts. Poor Vaelanys had been sitting at 75 in Dalaran for probably a year at least. Between his enlightenment buff and a full set of heirlooms, though it took no time at all for him to find himself in Draenor. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIu-KLy3vRwhj88tczjX_sTsA2D7RqSxGGJrtJ6K-Bj5e7GCltZL_ZxDpckbblluQZagDDFZgm45P49U9mLe4MtPoHXUh2ZZLrVeMWYxGLeuqKvUhqsbjwRcFixA5UWNJYn1TZDL5Zs4w/s1600/Vaelanysdraenor.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIu-KLy3vRwhj88tczjX_sTsA2D7RqSxGGJrtJ6K-Bj5e7GCltZL_ZxDpckbblluQZagDDFZgm45P49U9mLe4MtPoHXUh2ZZLrVeMWYxGLeuqKvUhqsbjwRcFixA5UWNJYn1TZDL5Zs4w/s1600/Vaelanysdraenor.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
Why do I need another blood elf Mistweaver? Why not. He lives on an RP server and I love being over there now and again. That is probably the main reason that when I made the mage I will actually finish leveling he went to hang out with Vaelanys on his server. I'm not sure why he ended up being a fire mage, but he did and so far it's delightfully explosive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Pfn3Ca57h9sWgxhdPZTq65bHTK4INCHTlq03jamxh1OiKnmUoEJ7ZzZ6uDHxIMsvfiJI0d8QnD3YvNMtdBHpuMWrlZX98rBVEvHd_fjHXJZB9-LJAKHg94u4aP-S1cwnybub2GDW88Y/s1600/Tanes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Pfn3Ca57h9sWgxhdPZTq65bHTK4INCHTlq03jamxh1OiKnmUoEJ7ZzZ6uDHxIMsvfiJI0d8QnD3YvNMtdBHpuMWrlZX98rBVEvHd_fjHXJZB9-LJAKHg94u4aP-S1cwnybub2GDW88Y/s1600/Tanes.jpg" height="293" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
Tanesryl. This selfie sums up his personality really well, except that it was before he'd leveled enough to transmog his heirlooms into something more stylish. He looks much better at level 44.</div>

So here's a small and not too screenshot heavy recap of a few of the things I love most in WoW:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDWJcBJt9lkoC9BgA447iY0mbqTI2b76flmZN8X3Ov21OE3gsvvJ7HPtxfOk0s81mHkddtOeqA3Igr49fZqi_MzmSfg5pUMMKSxhgCibh9MJAGlEsBcMju4Y5ZJxnngCz8DPRJ0lszXsI/s1600/RimSyriandphotobomb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDWJcBJt9lkoC9BgA447iY0mbqTI2b76flmZN8X3Ov21OE3gsvvJ7HPtxfOk0s81mHkddtOeqA3Igr49fZqi_MzmSfg5pUMMKSxhgCibh9MJAGlEsBcMju4Y5ZJxnngCz8DPRJ0lszXsI/s1600/RimSyriandphotobomb.jpg" height="250" width="400" /></a></div>
This really silly selfie of Rim and hubby's mage Syri complete with background photobomber sums up a lot of it really well. I love blood elves and paladins. I love the people I get to play with, not just hubby and the people I know in real life, but the wonderful people I've met through the game that I wouldn't otherwise get to know. I love the combination of silly and serious that Azeroth can be. I love transmog and the fact that it lets Rim constantly wear this suit of armor that just exemplifies paladin for me. I love screenshots.<br />
Of course I also love hunter pets:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBCStucJIhzT9HK6if6IL7YDe0rldbgR3J_ALX1B9tJhdj7TXhQexbfylyBKJzvDaoJ22ASm6BvtFEYt7VUsmh1euoGl0GGKkt4pEiRKBt8PjsJvvv4L2BJsrfTOaBAX2q15H1PM20ZSk/s1600/Augrunning.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBCStucJIhzT9HK6if6IL7YDe0rldbgR3J_ALX1B9tJhdj7TXhQexbfylyBKJzvDaoJ22ASm6BvtFEYt7VUsmh1euoGl0GGKkt4pEiRKBt8PjsJvvv4L2BJsrfTOaBAX2q15H1PM20ZSk/s1600/Augrunning.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
And doing old raids for fun.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGDCHFargr14kpsazVyAQCUVrHrcbAXIaWRd1BZLr_ssggOhZwZZsfyKULRopK7bDfSVzA41ralp3iUBSFceiFBxoELluSQ731iSTwCTXkCLbCql-uKpdUT6_lptGGycd4dgxwQIgDvy4/s1600/Laenmount.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGDCHFargr14kpsazVyAQCUVrHrcbAXIaWRd1BZLr_ssggOhZwZZsfyKULRopK7bDfSVzA41ralp3iUBSFceiFBxoELluSQ731iSTwCTXkCLbCql-uKpdUT6_lptGGycd4dgxwQIgDvy4/s1600/Laenmount.jpg" height="308" width="400" /></a></div>
And mounts.<br />
<br />
And now on to the slight more negative things:<br />
AzerothMadHatters(1):<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1sc_ZxGMpk10uk0R7rvhXWNdOJsuOMsafM0EVl9rRubWWNsig4oeLc1YptGMpALVqW6ZcUyLqoYZcMswHrS4-s6KcQ-e324Lq9sCYv_oVguIQMDSG7SV3qV6Hr7Lxl_0c0R-sM_2PeGU/s1600/AugBTMoon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1sc_ZxGMpk10uk0R7rvhXWNdOJsuOMsafM0EVl9rRubWWNsig4oeLc1YptGMpALVqW6ZcUyLqoYZcMswHrS4-s6KcQ-e324Lq9sCYv_oVguIQMDSG7SV3qV6Hr7Lxl_0c0R-sM_2PeGU/s1600/AugBTMoon.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
Looting awesome stuff on characters that can't equip it. Aug couldn't equip the Warglaive of Azzinoth he looted for a screenshot. So just enjoy this epic moon shot instead.<br />
<br />
AzerothMadHatters(2)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBdZ1G9AQN98wAUuN1FVXUFrQfCjPam-XPJI7RxqF1bkLOcKcMWAklHiPVhIH0W-4xXSWo1nX7tUqPKOeTQIL40DhlOf3bjmNyGSUmb_uekXH6iJHlcE2VoDVht0L_DkVLr0eefUn6Tcw/s1600/WeirdTynscreenshot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBdZ1G9AQN98wAUuN1FVXUFrQfCjPam-XPJI7RxqF1bkLOcKcMWAklHiPVhIH0W-4xXSWo1nX7tUqPKOeTQIL40DhlOf3bjmNyGSUmb_uekXH6iJHlcE2VoDVht0L_DkVLr0eefUn6Tcw/s1600/WeirdTynscreenshot.jpg" height="272" width="400" /></a></div>
The fact that so many of my male nelf selfies (nelfies?) turn out like this because for some reason closed eyelids don't entirely block their eye glow. It makes timing it for the expression I want at least three times as hard. :( (On a more positive note Tyndellan has some truly awesome fangs and I love that.)PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-13419345820559529102015-02-27T13:39:00.004-08:002015-02-27T13:39:37.158-08:00What I've been up to. And selfies.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I seem to find plenty to keep me busy in game even if a lot of it is running garrisons. Leveling is going a bit slow for some of the things I really wanted to level because some are waiting on leveling partners with less time when I have time. But Aug, who didn't get to see much action in MoP stepped up to get in some solo leveling time. He's 100 number four.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcH2pJp1aX7FK6Nxx3Ou2i79Dv9CCLoEBv1a4ZOb5czQHPhT9Yh9UFEw7L83DB_wIMt8rVqMb7U4kabfa9Vkk8iT8D0qfSSxu1UCJ99_wInhXurIGrM7nikqO1dYPC5jSKnc0IoOvxqcs/s1600/Aug100.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcH2pJp1aX7FK6Nxx3Ou2i79Dv9CCLoEBv1a4ZOb5czQHPhT9Yh9UFEw7L83DB_wIMt8rVqMb7U4kabfa9Vkk8iT8D0qfSSxu1UCJ99_wInhXurIGrM7nikqO1dYPC5jSKnc0IoOvxqcs/s1600/Aug100.jpg" height="78" width="320" /></a></div>
He's got his level three barn up and running and is having a much easier time soloing it than poor Tai did when he tried. But then he's a hunter. It's what they do. Leveling at a somewhat slower pace made it nice having resources and mission rewards aplenty waiting for him. It took a day to get him ready to go into LFR, though he hasn't been around to doing it yet.<br />
Ailluuya's been working on her healing... I've been putting in some practice and thought to go do some practice on gold proving grounds the other evening. I've never spent much time in the proving grounds past silver. I'd done a few attempts on her for practice toward the beginning of the expansion, but I tended to panic a little bit and fail around wave five. So I was extremely surprised when my practice run turned into this:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjlP_a7c8mpHZBvhCsoakkEO78YaeE2JyIi7EYdS11p3PTUV0-A2F-eI68ZKuAVDOu9mOsZEMEzJuLixqhavJXf6DUHX6mE0zWW6j6FRcmkl26V1S7-rS64rTmtOuAaSLYArRgVHCGcXk/s1600/Ailuuyagold.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjlP_a7c8mpHZBvhCsoakkEO78YaeE2JyIi7EYdS11p3PTUV0-A2F-eI68ZKuAVDOu9mOsZEMEzJuLixqhavJXf6DUHX6mE0zWW6j6FRcmkl26V1S7-rS64rTmtOuAaSLYArRgVHCGcXk/s1600/Ailuuyagold.jpg" height="69" width="320" /></a></div>
In a single attempt. Practice helps.<br />
<br />
<br />
I'm still not happy with the blood elf male models. I was hoping right up until I saw them in live that the things I had a problem with would be fixed. I wasn't the only one. In the feedback forum most of the feedback on the male models was the same things I had to say. It's not just the problems with the face proportions and how little they look like they used to. I kept hoping that the things like Aug's sidelocks clipping into his face even when he's just idling and Tai's braids not moving at all and clipping into his chest more than the originals would get taken care of. Tai has the same hairstyle as Nelf Tyndellan does, only Tyndellan's braids move and flop when he jumps and Tai's don't. I'm holding out a little bit of hope that that might yet get a tweak but I'm a bit afraid I'm stuck with the faces that I just hate.<br />
On a more positive note I found unexpected enjoyment in the Selfie camera. I thought it was such a stupid idea when it was announced. I didn't think I would like it at all, but I've taken so many character selfies. I should have known that it was another way of taking screenshots and I love taking screenshots. So here are a few of my favorites so far:<br />

It took me a while to get the PTR working but I finally got to go in and have a look. I looked at Thera too, but plenty of people have gone over the changes to female Blood Elves so I'll just skip right to the guys.<br />
I -really- want to like the new models. This is my favorite race to play and most of my favorite characters are male Blood Elves, so I feel like I'm trying maybe a little too hard to look at these in a positive light. There are things I love. New animations are more fluid... the run's a little different but not the goofy run the male Night Elves had been saddled with (and which they fixed in the PTR, Huzzah!). The new hands look great, the body is really well done, definitely an upgrade. But the faces... well...<br />
I understand that they're not done. They're all apparently using the same geometry right now and so I am -really- hoping that all the things I really dislike in this new face will be confined to one option and not over all of them the way they are now. Now we get image heavy, and we'll start with the one I feel most okay with.<br />

He seems close. A little crankier than I think he looks in live maybe but the beard and hair do a good job evening out any flaws in the facial structure, so I think I can live with this for him, though I wish he looked less frowny.<br />

First of all I think Tai's face is my favorite of the male Blood Elf faces in Live. It's certainly the one that's right for him. It looks dignified, strong, not as young as some of the others but still handsome. I like the set of his mouth.<br />
The PTR version looks nothing like that... it's got the problem all the PTR faces have... which is next to no lips, cheeks that are a bit too wide and a mouth set too far up the face. It doesn't look like Tai. I do like the hair, except for the fact that it doesn't move. Tyndellan has the night elven version of the same hair and his braids sway a little when he moves and actually lift and fall again when he jumps. Tai's never move, they may as well be solid. I hope that'll get fixed before it goes Live but even if it does I don't know if I can live with that face... and none of them are enough different from it right now for me to fix it. I really hope that's going to change.<br />
And then there's Seish:<br />

His hair looks neat. I think that that... and the fact that this one makes it really easy to pick out the stuff that's the problem with all the male blood elf faces in the PTR right now is about the extent of what I can say that's positive. This one makes it pretty obvious to me that I think the eyes are maybe a tiny bit too small. Not a deal breaker by istself. But he's got too much chin. I feel like the nose could be a bit longer and the mouth a bit lower on the face and it would be fine.<br />
But it's not. He looks insufferable and smug, even beyond the amounts of sort of insufferable and smug that he actually is, and that's saying something. I want to like these models. I'm okay with Rim's. I could work on being okay with Laen's but Tai and Seish... I have a really hard time with. All I can say is that I hope they're listening to what little feedback has been given on the male blood elves and that they'll change up the facial structure a bit for all of them and then make them different.<br />
I do have to wonder what it is with Blizzard and putting giant chins on everybody. I'm not freaking out right now, I'm reminding myself that they're still working on things and that hopefully they'll tweak stuff to make them better before they go live. I'll happily wait another month or so for that. And they -did- fix the male night elf run, so there's hope.<br />

But now it's finally better and I've taken some time from all the garrison chores to actually make a post about the things I've been up to. I'm surprised it's taken me this long to start really focusing on leveling another alt, but then I got three to 100 at about the same time and that's a lot of garrison chores. Still every hunter has his day and Aug's getting his turn. He's leveling, but also taming his way across Draenor.<br />

He made a new Frostwolf friend in Frostfire and named him Gelu. Gelu kept him company through most of Gorgrond too, and partway through the Gorgrond chain I realized that Aug didn't have Snowpaw in his garrison yet, so everything else had to be dropped until that got remedied, if only so screenshots like this could happen.<br />

Tai is the one that made the harness for that wolf but since he won't give up his tiger Aug got to steal the mount. It's a win for everybody. (I'm a little bit sad that only leatherworkers can ride that wolf because I really like it.)<br />
In Gorgrond Aug found another new friend.<br />

Laetus has done a little helping out with the barn, though mostly he's on passive for the trapping and is just moral support. I really didn't want another barn, but then Rim wanted to upgrade his shield and I realize that no matter how much it irked me I was going to need at least one barn on every server where I leveled a crafter. Well Tai's got his server covered. Aug will do he and Rim and Seish's. Tyl will be needing one and Ailuuya replaced her lumberyard and upgraded it all the way up yesterday. I doubt I'll be quite as good at keeping hers full as I will for the rest of them. She's lucky enough to be raiding and may well replace her crafted jewelry before I can upgrade it anyhow.<br />

Aug meanwhile has moved on to Talador where of course he promptly found a red hydra he -had- to tame. This one got a little bit complicated. There was an argument between Aug and Magister Krelas about the best thing to do with large red hydras. The silly mage kept interrupting his tame and insisting they should just kill the thing. I think he underestimated the lengths a hunter will go to for a pet he wants. Aug moved on, away killed some ogres and let Krelas and the hydra argue it out. Once the hydra had predictably won Aug tamed him, helped Krelas up, and off they all went together. I suppose Aug must have apologized because at the end of it all Krelas was still willing to come work for him so I guess there are no hard feelings. Aug may need to swat Servius over the noses a few times to get him to stop looking at the Magister like he's a meal, though.<br />
I wish I could say Aug had collected all the Draenor pets he wanted, but there are still a couple of beautifully colored tigers calling his name. I'm going to hope we can get it all out of his system before Nagrand.<br />

Cheerful holiday posts will have to come later, there is a cranky rant here that's been building for a while.<br />
Tai's a leatherworker. It's a good profession for a monk even if it's always been a pain to level. This expansion's no exception. People who work with metal get a mine for them and all their alts, so the ore just flows in. People who work with herbs have to level some but they get their herb garden to do the same. If you work with leather, though you get to use up one of your building slots to make a barn. So it already annoys me that it took up a slot I wanted for an inn for materials other people get provided for free.<br />
But I'll deal with that. I'll deal with the finicky traps and the fact that for some reason I couldn't seem to actually catch anything that would provide me with the leather I made the barn for until I got to Nagrand (around level 98). Finally got the barn producing leather and leveled it to three for the adorable pet but also for the chance of being able to farm up savage blood. But elites are no picnic for a healer who isn't that well-geared. Still Tai's usually got a tank to help him out and we split the savage blood.<br />
But sometimes I feel bad asking for help for something that's basically busy work for my garrison and I go out and work on them alone. It takes a fair bit for Tai to beat one of those Clefthooves down low enough to trap them. And here's the part that makes me angry. I can deal with it being a project and taking me about five minutes per trap. What I can't deal with is that Blizzard set up the mob tagging for those elites in a way that allows someone to come along just as I get them down low enough and drop a trap and taunt. The clefthoof goes in their trap and I've just wasted all the time I spent working on it.<br />
There's the variation on this where someone just comes along and nukes the mob down to zero before the trap catches too. Either way I spend a fair bit of time and get nothing out of it but annoyance and frustration. Especially when I go back to my garrison with my meager trap haul and walk by the mine and herb garden that produce so much free ore and herbs for friends and alts. I can't help feeling like other people get free materials and I get to use a building slot for another way for people to grief me.<br />
I think the barn shouldn't have taken a building slot. But it does provide the chance of savage blood so maybe that's fair. But maybe we could at least change the rules for those traps so that they won't work on things not tagged by you or your party members? That still lets people work together, but maybe at least stops me from wishing those big traps worked on other players. And hey then the guy that nukes it down before the trap catches can still get in his daily dose of being a jerk too. But at least I don't have to be filling up barns for the Alliance at no charge.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-81175129100134829522014-12-22T13:27:00.001-08:002014-12-22T13:27:26.329-08:00Shadowmoon Hunter Mog Another game of 'What do I have in my void storage?' ended with this mog for Tyl. I really just couldn't resist making a mog for those shoulders because they look good on a male Night Elf. And I was happy for a mog that finally worked with that bow. Shadowmoon Valley is an irresistible backdrop for screenshots too. It looks very right for a Night Elf home far away from home.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-74004250187030270202014-12-12T01:56:00.000-08:002014-12-12T01:56:26.555-08:00A couple goals met. First of all I have to say I'm with <a href="http://tomeoftheancient.wordpress.com/2014/12/11/welp-the-warlords-killed-my-ancient-tome/">Tome</a> here. I've been slacking off on writing on my WoW blog not because I don't have anything to write about but because I've been too busy doing it to write about it. Warlords is keeping me busy. (And of course there's the holidays too.) I'm running three level 3 garrisons now: Tai's, Rim's, and Ailuuya's. And a couple level twos that are mostly doing profession stuff and accumulating resources.<br />
I'm trying to get Ailuuya geared so she can raid because I miss running with my raid team so much. She's close. I'm really hoping for next week. She'll have another crafted piece tomorrow and hopefully I can get her through a heroic or two and maybe the LFR. Today, though, besides her apexis daily and garrison missions she's managed to meet two of my WoW goals.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibI87A9dx1mQts3UIABopQf6RyVeXnZPSaxJuEJzCz9t1Su0MCrfaoelSz_Zs0g-GzHuKSBbbHpcylOhucuPQvgyxMLBjLFbd-qL9zwp_kqMx-L9ACTZlMQNDakiyzCDS6VaATuqqti0o/s1600/DarkWarTalbuk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibI87A9dx1mQts3UIABopQf6RyVeXnZPSaxJuEJzCz9t1Su0MCrfaoelSz_Zs0g-GzHuKSBbbHpcylOhucuPQvgyxMLBjLFbd-qL9zwp_kqMx-L9ACTZlMQNDakiyzCDS6VaATuqqti0o/s1600/DarkWarTalbuk.jpg" height="353" width="400" /></a></div>
I love talbuks. They're still some of my favorite mounts, no matter how many new models they bring in and I wanted the dark ones for ages. But getting them involved pvp and even though a lot of mine are on a pvp server... no. Just no. But a while back Ailuuya got some of the battle tokens from a garrison mission. I put them in her bags thinking I'd have to hope more missions came up for them and save them. But today I finally looked them up and realized she already had enough for the Dark War Talbuk. And there he is. I'll still have to hope the mission comes up again so I can get the other one but I'm so happy about this!<br />
And after Halaa had been claimed and the Talbuk purchased I thought while I was in Outlands I might as well fly over and pay Gruul another fruitless visit. Ever since I created Ailuuya I had one specific shield in mind for her. The most draenei of shields, but Gruul kept dropping trinkets for me instead. Only tonight he didn't.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjShcns73XZMTASHK7xJmk5PnHrXqIsUl-vNXLRNukmXxhL6Q7dHCYzdERXRl8I-fL4qV5VwQmi03nGTpEOuNK-E9omLJi-pb8eMBFpYKM4ikggYj93XtYp0iqq_emcJujK3EawizfGD9A/s1600/Kaarasshield.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjShcns73XZMTASHK7xJmk5PnHrXqIsUl-vNXLRNukmXxhL6Q7dHCYzdERXRl8I-fL4qV5VwQmi03nGTpEOuNK-E9omLJi-pb8eMBFpYKM4ikggYj93XtYp0iqq_emcJujK3EawizfGD9A/s1600/Kaarasshield.jpg" height="372" width="400" /></a></div>
So of course I had to go transmog her even though I'm hoping to replace some of that gear tomorrow or the next day. And I'm happy. I think she looks great, and my many Gruul kills finally paid off so I don't have to do it any more.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-90823365636096688262014-12-06T20:58:00.001-08:002014-12-06T20:58:28.833-08:00A strange feeling and some achievements. Periodically I waste time on my phone looking at funny pictures on the internet. It's amusing, some of them make me laugh, other's make me shake my head. Yesterday one of them made me double take. It was a WoW thing, a split picture top and bottom comparing Vanilla and WoD. I read through all the little captions on the top one and then looked down at the bottom picture and stared thinking... Holy crap that looks like Tai. Staring at it a moment longer I realized it -was- Tai:<br />
<br />

I am still not sure how to feel about this. After all nobody asked me if they could use my screenshot. And the point seems to be about how isolated WoW is now, when that screenshot was in a post where I was talking about my launch party and playing with friends. After all Tai never levels solo, even if I screencap him that way a lot. On the other hand I guess it's flattering? Except the part where I wasn't credited of course.<br />
<br />
In other notes. I've got three at 100 now, Rim and Tai Horde side and Ailuuya on Alliance. Ailuuya is profiting from the things I learned making garrison missteps on Rim and Tai so she's doing fairly well for herself. Gearing is slowly happening and I've managed to get her silver proving grounds for both healing and damage without too much trouble. She hasn't queued for Molten Core yet, but she'll be able to whenever I want.<br />
Tai has a stable in his garrison. I'd originally meant to do all that with Seish but he's still at 91 waiting for his leveling partner so Tai has taken over. All but one of the stable mounts have been tamed as of today, including this fine fellow.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm9zG0MeZakEg5EtyHi2iLcOiFprRlz8yJPYNgeoplInK7S3JS_gStieTQpnQp5d-0VhBaQ2bzl1EOfzNv29oVrkKRysVq2lndKkDhdKaFQCybdxKEDlxSpxe5UGc2RdgLmi-QW8a60xo/s1600/TrainedRiverwallow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm9zG0MeZakEg5EtyHi2iLcOiFprRlz8yJPYNgeoplInK7S3JS_gStieTQpnQp5d-0VhBaQ2bzl1EOfzNv29oVrkKRysVq2lndKkDhdKaFQCybdxKEDlxSpxe5UGc2RdgLmi-QW8a60xo/s1600/TrainedRiverwallow.jpg" height="251" width="400" /></a></div>
That put Tai's mount count for the achievement at 197, so just on a hunch I switched over to Seish.<br />
And as I'd thought paladin mounts did it (Helps that he has the Argent Charger). I was too excited to screencap the achievement when it popped but it's maybe more impressive this way anyhow:<br />

Sure enough, a preview for the new Blood Elf models: <a href="http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/16940815/artcraft-blood-elf-update-11-25-2014">Blood Elf Artcraft</a>. I've been waiting more than a little uneasily for them. Looking at the still pictures has me a bit more optimistic, but only cautiously so. I liked the stills for a lot of things that I've been less impressed with when I see them live. And the previews are limited to one face and a few hairstyles so I really have no idea how mine will look. I'm afraid they'll get a really silly run like the male night elves. But the stills look good. It doesn't seem like they gave them the flat, dead, bulgy eyes that ruined my enjoyment of my lady draenei. So I'm hoping that when I see them live I'll love them as much as I love the current models.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I went afk for something and when I came back I found that Tai had taken a seat and settled in to discuss garrison matters with Rokhan,</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
In other news Tai did manage to hit level 100 last Saturday. That night he tried the proving grounds and I was pleasantly surprised that it only took three tries to get silver despite the fact that for that he has to heal in serpent stance when in the field with Os he's played almost entirely in Spirited Crane.<br />
So of course the next day the first thing we decided to do was go make an attempt at two-manning a dungeon. Looking to see what we should try we found out our brand new 90 gear only made us barely eligible to queue for normal Skyreach if we had been going to queue. that seemed a pretty good indication that it would be the best place to start.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigpYF81bZTGkH6qzFQI6BP8xFbVCubealSOQqeJC2E9Te_XVFQQ_VYhVPOQw-nPOoXOCqHsfDOmxlUBzr4-KnP9tK-IumBXt7MBp9au8z2Z5rVV2x9I5C6IbpPBkvjezYDjyDgYuaTJxw/s1600/Skyreachadventures.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigpYF81bZTGkH6qzFQI6BP8xFbVCubealSOQqeJC2E9Te_XVFQQ_VYhVPOQw-nPOoXOCqHsfDOmxlUBzr4-KnP9tK-IumBXt7MBp9au8z2Z5rVV2x9I5C6IbpPBkvjezYDjyDgYuaTJxw/s1600/Skyreachadventures.jpg" height="263" width="400" /></a></div>
It was our first time setting foot into any of the dungeons this expansion, so we had no idea what to expect. Skyreach is a pretty dungeon I'd have nabbed more screenshots but only had time for this one when Os went afk for a moment. The trash wasn't too bad, though rather slow going with only mistweaver and prot pally damage.<br />
Then we got to the first boss. The sensible thing probably would have been to look at a guide for the strategies or at least crack open a dungeon journal, but we like trial and error. There were lots of errors. An accidental bubble on Os' part got Tai stomped by Ranjit. Moments later an ill timed chi torpedo showed me that no... there is NO invisible wall on that platform after all. We rather thought we wouldn't manage it. I couldn't really help with the dps, the damage was too heavy on our new armor. But somehow after a lot of tries this happened:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNV0joqSxKEhbNZwuJnRIzT-QqtZjQfgmT3OSIvZzn1_g9odZ7o_SoKD8w08hpDPCDJg9qAv8bIl004pfBZTe-JYi3tdVZPHw_hDOvLjkH_OfEvnzm-EbBbo-ocnybSaJzmfNf4OCce-E/s1600/FirstbossSkyreach.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNV0joqSxKEhbNZwuJnRIzT-QqtZjQfgmT3OSIvZzn1_g9odZ7o_SoKD8w08hpDPCDJg9qAv8bIl004pfBZTe-JYi3tdVZPHw_hDOvLjkH_OfEvnzm-EbBbo-ocnybSaJzmfNf4OCce-E/s1600/FirstbossSkyreach.jpg" height="245" width="400" /></a></div>
He dropped mail that Tai and Os looked at, shrugged, and DEed. The second boss got one attempt before we decided to leave it for another day. Still it was fun, far more challenging than Mist Heroics we were easily able to complete with roughly the same gear. We'll be going back to try again with a few more pieces of gear.<br />
It took a few more days of resource gathering but Tai has finally managed to upgrade his garrison to level three and put in a salvage yard, lumber mill and stable. Eventually the mill will be replaced, probably with an inn, but for now it's helping upgrade the rest.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidUnVuZo7D1DWzJN4kZhQH129cPt0czT9R-yQboM3RoUDQmuBNk0rBr0e7g_thJMMVfehR93ZeC9V42VQN1ymxCGOaC7KngbC5msquvjb3DMmvdZtMcyTxjSBSDUN0_kYQqGICcqrRiEM/s1600/Ailuuyagarrisonview.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidUnVuZo7D1DWzJN4kZhQH129cPt0czT9R-yQboM3RoUDQmuBNk0rBr0e7g_thJMMVfehR93ZeC9V42VQN1ymxCGOaC7KngbC5msquvjb3DMmvdZtMcyTxjSBSDUN0_kYQqGICcqrRiEM/s1600/Ailuuyagarrisonview.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
Ailuuya's almost 97. She's got plenty of resources, thanks to some downtime and to having been smart enough to start with a lumber mill. But I still can't decide what spec to try to gear up, for the moment she's continuing to level in prot.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-35588659876199046192014-11-19T21:08:00.001-08:002014-11-19T21:08:20.282-08:00Leveling all over the place. I don't have anybody at 100 yet. I play a lot of my characters with different people, so since the Azerothian flu seems to have been epidemic I've been leveling all sorts of different things. So here's a rundown of what the main ones are up to:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivDnekH3SiuJYE0BjCs5tAKvujKTWiVSQK9TdSD00kj48b5ldhDY-J-N7mafGsItt4O3TH4WDeB6Nc_mCh3T5J0zLrjR6i0U3USxEBcbZ42Go4ScDQQ1GCEoNoejCWDpPX82xn-Jny66E/s1600/WoDcollageTaiOs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivDnekH3SiuJYE0BjCs5tAKvujKTWiVSQK9TdSD00kj48b5ldhDY-J-N7mafGsItt4O3TH4WDeB6Nc_mCh3T5J0zLrjR6i0U3USxEBcbZ42Go4ScDQQ1GCEoNoejCWDpPX82xn-Jny66E/s1600/WoDcollageTaiOs.jpg" height="275" width="400" /></a></div>
Since he keeps trying to steal Seish's job it probably shouldn't surprise me that circumstances too have ensured that Tai is my highest level character at the moment. Here are he and Os in Gorgrond, though they've since moved on to Talador and level 97. These two are one of the teams that makes it hard for me when I go on to quest alone on other characters. A prot paladin and a mistweaver monk are a nearly unstoppable team and they tear through quests at an insane rate of speed. (And look awesome doing it, even without new models.)<br />
Tai's garrison is level two and most of the buildings have been upgraded to two as well. I have to say the barn's a disappointment. I was looking forward to supplementing the skinning he does questing, but turns out that either the iron traps are the glitchiest things ever, or there's some trick to trapping things that actually provide leather. I can catch the wolves that provide cloth/fur and the boars/riverbeasts for meat all day long, But have not managed a single clefthoof. Tai glares at the barn and growls at the workers every time he walks by it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5yWtCDr_yb75EgE_iB-aHzbV1P6nuH8xdrA5X-afnJu78zXQGmXJiKp6RMzca0tnGc0HSjBRAPDBu4LXQxm4k_94EQkobrvoT6Nn7er0EoVlosydSpbhet6yiRVBWNZadGlbzAdRuHpo/s1600/WoDcollage2Rim.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5yWtCDr_yb75EgE_iB-aHzbV1P6nuH8xdrA5X-afnJu78zXQGmXJiKp6RMzca0tnGc0HSjBRAPDBu4LXQxm4k_94EQkobrvoT6Nn7er0EoVlosydSpbhet6yiRVBWNZadGlbzAdRuHpo/s1600/WoDcollage2Rim.jpg" height="261" width="400" /></a></div>
Rim's the next highest. He and Syri have reached level 94. His garrison's also level two and he's worked on most of the buildings. They're currently in Gorgrond and ready to move on to Talador. He's not having the issues with building disappointment that Tai is. And apparently Rim's one of my luckiest characters. Not only did he win himself a Garn Nighthowl on one of his first days out questing, but he's managed to get four of his follower to go epic for him. With the right composition he can get them to churn out a ten hour mission in two and a half hours.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPmjiIVHR9A0Cf-GyfZ7o-hVk8hKPC5CqHMg5F8t9lnbSEv1uThL6iA_XUdOnAn6xkI2O427M8VhsioFiHETbtfdNSFr_XL04cY8qlFGb9JO_dDLd4lZvane9am5eH3g6fU5E-FbNY-Ww/s1600/WoDcollage1Laen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPmjiIVHR9A0Cf-GyfZ7o-hVk8hKPC5CqHMg5F8t9lnbSEv1uThL6iA_XUdOnAn6xkI2O427M8VhsioFiHETbtfdNSFr_XL04cY8qlFGb9JO_dDLd4lZvane9am5eH3g6fU5E-FbNY-Ww/s1600/WoDcollage1Laen.jpg" height="247" width="400" /></a></div>
Laen was originally supposed to go solo but the hubby finally ended up using his boost on a Brewmaster, so Laen and a rather cute little Pandaren poked their heads into Frostfire when the queues on Rim and Syri's server were too high. They've reached level 91, though mostly Laen's garrison is serving for loaning his enchanting study to Os in exchange for mats.<br />

Ailuuya's planning on being my raiding main for WoD but she's still a bit behind, mostly because I'd been so busy playing with others that I've had little chance for playing alone. She's 93, though and has just finished Shadowmoon. And I don't know what spec she'll be. Right now she's leveling in prot and collecting ret gear but has her eye on holy if it's needed. She's versatile. And playing through Shadowmoon with her had started a story in my head that might need to find its way onto paper.<br />
Tyl's also leveling solo but he's letting Ailuuya have the spotlight for solo play for now. Still he's 92 and has a garrison to take care of.<br />
Poor Seish has been waiting on his leveling buddy and with the luck I always seem to have with the character I consider my main it looks like he's going to be the last one to get anywhere. He's currently sitting in Frostfire ready to do the quests to start his garrison whenever SprYte gets a chance to log in. There are other 90s waiting in the wings, but there's a pretty long line already.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5748580458543033392.post-54570076904457026082014-11-15T19:51:00.003-08:002014-11-15T19:51:43.015-08:00First new mount of WoD I was so incredibly lucky today. While Rim and Syri were questing in Frostfire Ridge today I saw somebody putting together a group for Nok'Karosh. I knew he drops a mount, but just one mount for the entire raid. Still Syri was game so we went over to see. Nok'Karosh is level 100 so even a forty man raid of people closer to 90 has a tough time. Rim spent a good deal of the fight dead since he's a tank. But the group got it down, the mount dropped. Everybody rolled, and I won!<br />

I squealed at my computer, ridiculously happy. And then because karma is important I stuck around for a couple more kills just to help out. Or to help out as much as a shiny gold beacon of light that keeps getting bitten to death does. It's a lovely mount. I like the new wolf models a lot.<br />

What a fun start to the new expansion. It's not Rim's usual style of mount, but I think they'll get along.PlaidElfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15322405383723446243noreply@blogger.com2
